From a website built by hand to one you run yourself.
Six steps, most of which LayerAdapt does on its own. Here is exactly what happens, what you do, and what is happening behind the scenes.
Bring your website
Upload it, or let LayerAdapt sign in to your hosting.
Reads every page
Finds the content. No AI, nothing changed yet.
Builds your database
Decides what becomes a table, once, when you ask.
Edit and publish
Change anything from simple screens. Go live in one click.
- 1
Bring your website
In your workspace, choose Connect a website. Either upload a ZIP of your website's files, or enter your hosting's FTP details so LayerAdapt can read the files where they are. Connecting your hosting is the better choice: it is also how LayerAdapt publishes your changes later.
You doUpload a ZIP, or type your FTP address, username, password and folder.Behind the scenesYour password is encrypted straight away. LayerAdapt only reads files at this point. - 2
LayerAdapt reads the whole website
Every page is read: texts, pictures, links, menus, repeated blocks and the lists that PHP websites keep in their code. No AI is involved in this step and nothing on your website is changed. When it finishes you can already see your pages, their titles and their search-engine settings.
You doNothing. Look through your pages if you like.Behind the scenesA private copy of your files is kept, so every later change can be compared and undone. - 3
One button: let the AI analyze your website
Press Let the AI analyze my website. The AI studies the site the way a developer would. It decides which repeated items deserve their own table (services, team, blog posts, testimonials, prices, menus), names them in plain words, and makes sure nothing that should be editable is left behind. It runs once, when you ask, and it never restarts by itself.
You doPress one button, then read the summary of what it found.Behind the scenesThe AI only sees your pages' content. It never sees passwords or settings files. - 4
Your content database is created
Tables are created for your website, with one row per item and one column per part that changes. Each website gets its own: an accounting firm gets Services and Insights, a restaurant gets Menu items and Opening hours. Every value from your pages is copied into them.
You doNothing.Behind the scenesLayerAdapt checks that every page, rebuilt from the tables, looks exactly like the original. - 5
Your website becomes dynamic
Your pages are connected to the tables, so they read their content from the database each time they open. A local copy of your content is kept on your hosting, so your website keeps working even if LayerAdapt cannot be reached for a moment.
You doPress Publish to my website once.Behind the scenesOnly the parts that show content are changed. Design, styles and scripts are not touched. - 6
Edit, review, publish
From now on you change your website from lists and forms: add a service, write a blog post, swap a picture, reorder the menu, set a page's title for Google. Content changes show on your website straight away. Changes that need new files are published to your hosting in one click.
You doEdit, then press Publish to my website when files need updating.Behind the scenesA backup is kept before every publish, and every change is recorded with who made it.
Less than you think.
No technical knowledge, no new hosting, and no copy of the original developer's notes.
- Your websiteA ZIP of its files, or the FTP login your hosting company gave you. In cPanel it is under "FTP Accounts".
- Its addressSo LayerAdapt can read the live pages and their search-engine settings.
- Built withHTML or PHP. Something else? Tell us when you join and we will check it first.
- Your timeA few minutes to connect it, then a look through what LayerAdapt found.
Reading again versus asking the AI again.
Read my website again
Use it after someone changed files on your hosting by hand. LayerAdapt reads the files again, keeps every edit you made, and keeps the tables the AI built. No AI is used.
Let the AI analyze again
Use it after big changes to the website, such as new pages or new sections. The AI looks at the whole site again and adds tables for anything new. Your existing content stays as it is.
Stop editing code to change a phone number.
